International private medical insurance provider Now Health International has combined its operations in the Asia Pacific and Middle East and Africa into a single region, AMEA (Asia - excluding China, Middle East and Africa), to support the development of its global service proposition.
The move follows the Group’s acquisition of Best Doctors Insurance in July 2015, and subsequent work to develop a regional operating model in response to the extended geographical reach of the combined business.
The newly created AMEA region will be headed by Mr Zahir Sharif, previously Managing Director for the Middle East and Africa. He will be supported in the role by Mr Rob McIntyre, current General Manager for Singapore, whose expanded remit will now also include responsibility for the Hong Kong and Indonesia branches.
As part of the restructure, the China operation will become a region in its own right and be strengthened with the appointment of JingPing Zhang, who is China CEO of Now Health’s investor, Primary Group.
The Now Health International Group consists of Now Health International and Best Doctors Insurance. Now Health has offices in the UK, the UAE, China, Hong Kong, Singapore and Indonesia. M
