The Algerian Union of Insurance and Reinsurance Companies (UAR) has formed a hub for innovation and artificial intelligence (AI).
The innovation hub, launched on 8 January 2026, in partnership with specialised academic and technical establishments, is located at the Chahid Abdelhafid-Ihaddaden Scientific and Technological Hub in the new city of Sidi Abdellah near Algiers.
The objective is to stimulate innovation in the insurance sector and integrate AI applications, by encouraging applied research and experimenting with innovative solutions. As part of the hub’s collaboration with universities, students will be trained to enable them to offer innovative digital solutions when the insurance industry recruits them.
The General Delegate of the UAR, Mr Abdelhakim Berrah, stressed that the Union will, within the framework of this hub, develop two complementary career paths for the benefit of graduates: the first with an administrative and managerial focus and the second focused on specialised expertise in innovation.
