Algeria: Insurance brokers set out key priorities: Innovation, inclusion and compliance

Source: Middle East Insurance Review | Nov 2025

The Algerian Union of Insurance Brokers (UACA) has set out four strategic directions to modernise the brokerage sector.

They are:
  • Digital innovation: increased use of artificial intelligence, big data and digital solutions to improve operational efficiency and reach a wider customer base.
  • The digitalisation of insurance platforms: a key lever for expanding inclusion and offering better coverage to different categories of the population.
  • The promotion of life insurance: perceived as a strategic tool for economic and social stability, beyond simple protection against risks.
  • Compliance with international rules: strengthening the role of brokers in the fight against money laundering and the financing of terrorism, through internal control mechanisms and ongoing employee training.
The priorities were highlighted at a meeting, organised by the UACA on 22 September 2025 under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Finance, to exchange views with the various actors in the field, to arrive at concrete recommendations which could, subsequently, be communicated to the regulatory authorities. M
