Turkiye: Insurance association names 8 priorities for the next 5 years

The Insurance Association of Turkiye (TSB) has published a final report on eight priority projects for the 2025-2029 strategy period.
With the priority projects, the TSB aims to increase the insurance penetration rate and double the insurance sector’s growth by the end of 2029 for Turkiye to become one of the world’s top 10 insurance markets, according to a report by Insurance Gazette.
The eight priority areas are:
- Supplementary Retirement System: A new system with contributions from both employers and employees will support the existing Social Security Institution to improve retirement security.
- Innovative Insurance Products: Focus on developing coverage for emerging and complex risks such as earthquakes, pandemics, cyber, climate, and parametric risks.
- Education and Workforce Development: Includes promoting insurance careers, developing vocational training and certifications, and improving university-level insurance education.
- Embedded Insurance: Evaluation and adaptation of successful embedded insurance models worldwide to develop Turkiye’s market infrastructure.
- Preventive Health Coverage: Shift private health insurance from just treatment to include preventive healthcare services.
- Mandatory Insurance Reforms: Address inefficiencies in current compulsory insurance products to improve effectiveness.
- Claims Tracking: Build an online platform for claimants to monitor the status and process of their claims in real-time.
- Life Insurance with Savings: Promote life insurance linked with mutual funds, enabling policyholders to manage their own savings and deepen financial market participation. M
