Oman: Regulator gives nod to digital platforms of four insurance entities

Source: Middle East Insurance Review | Apr 2024

The Capital Market Authority (CMA) has approved four insurance entities including insurance companies and brokerages to provide their integrated insurance services via online platforms.

The CMA gave the green light to the online platforms after studying and analysing the proposals submitted by the insurance entities and ensuring that they fulfil all the requirements contained in the regulations governing digital insurance operations which were approved in the last quarter of 2023, according to local media reports quoting a statement issued by the CMA.

Under the regulations, insurance services provided via digital platforms include selling insurance policies, marketing products, collecting premiums, managing claims, filing of complaints and following up on them. M
