Qatar: AI-driven insurance platform company establishes office

DESAISIV, a B2B company offering AI-driven SaaS for medical insurance companies and TPAs is establishing an office in Qatar.
The company’s insurance data platform helps insurers reduce their loss ratios by predicting diseases, improving their services, and optimising insurance processes, reported the newspaper The Peninsula.
Cooperating with many Qatari tech accelerators, DESAISIV is looking to commence its operations in the country towards the end of the second quarter of this year.
DESAISIV chief executive and co-founder Saed Khawaldeh said that the company has “built a comprehensive and powerful AI engine in collaboration with top AI scientists at the University of Oxford”.
With an office network that also includes Saudi Arabia, Jordan, the UAE and the UK, DESAISIV aims to serve clients with the latest AI technologies that have processed over 1bn data points and 14.6m patient records so far.
The opening of DESAISIV’s office in Qatar coincides with the introduction of the rollout of the country’s mandatory healthcare insurance scheme. The implementation of the first phase of the mandatory health insurance scheme began on 1 February 2023, with all visitors to Qatar required to have a health insurance policy.
Qatari regulations stipulate that the mandatory health insurance scheme, including basic and additional cover, can only be provided by insurance entities (including brokers and TPAs) licensed in compliance with Qatar law and registered with the Ministry of Public Health. M
