With the ‘early bird’ rate for booking places at this year’s SIRC closing at the end of August, registrations continue apace for the most important event in the APAC reinsurance calendar.

The Singapore Reinsurers’ Association (SRA) executive committee is still putting the finishing touches to the final agenda for this year’s Singapore International Reinsurance Conference (SIRC) – but it is likely that the theme of ‘global inflation’ will be pervasive throughout the event.

The SRA executive committee is presently working on burnishing the final agenda – which promises to be inclusive and engaging.

Marc HaushoferSRA chairman Marc Haushofer said, “We are putting together a conference programme comprising a blend of keynotes, fireside chats, panel discussions and roundtables to dissect these issues, some of which could be curated by SRA’s WiRE sub-committee as well as the ‘next generation’ practitioners.”

Registration process
Registrations for the SIRC are still open on the 18th SIRC website at https://www.sirc.com.sg where registrants can still save S$300 ($217) when they sign up during the early registration phase which ends at midnight SGT on 31 August.

The website also contains links for overseas delegates to make reservation for guest rooms at Marina Bay Sands Singapore at specially contracted rates during the event, which is scheduled to run from 31 October until 3 November 2022 at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre. Industry practitioners can also find details of the various partnership and meeting facilities packages for the event on the website.

More sponsors on board
Paul MurraySince the last SIRC Countdown was published, Swiss Re has committed to taking the lead partner package – continuing the long association between the reinsurer and the SIRC.
Swiss Re regional president and CEO reinsurance Asia Paul Murray told Middle East Insurance Review (MEIR), “With the volatile macroeconomic and geopolitical landscape, it is important that we come together as an industry to support our customers and partners through today’s volatile environment.

“SIRC has always been a forum for us to discuss ‘top of mind’ concerns and to share our collective knowledge and experiences. I am personally looking forward to being a part of this year’s in-person conference and attending for the first time. This year’s theme is Re-Connecting and Reshaping the future; critical as together we can be more resilient as one industry.”

Another significant addition to the list of sponsors for the event saw Beazley sign up as gold partner for the 18th SIRC.

Lucien MounierBeazley head of Asia Pacific Lucien Mounier told MEIR, “Beazley has always been an active participant at SIRC, but this year is special. This is our industry’s first large scale in-person event since COVID-19, and we are excited to reconnect with partners and friends from across the region.

“Having delivered on the plan we presented at SIRC in 2019 - with nearly double the bench strength today - we are thrilled to be able to showcase our broadened product capabilities to the market and learn more about what the market wants from us.”

MEIR’s sister publication, Asia Insurance Review (AIR), is the official media partner of the SIRC for 2022 – with regular updates on the progress of the work of the SIRC executive committee featuring in AIR’s various media.

As in previous years, the Asia Insurance Industry Awards 2022 gala dinner will be held in Marina Bay Sands on the evening of 31 October to coincide with the start of the SIRC. M
