When I look back through the archival editions of our insurance publications, I find it to have been an industry content to be pleasantly but boringly static and ‘starchy’, a kind of uniform for risk management when it is interpreted purely as restraint.
Today, by contrast, the fields of risk financing, risk management and risk transfer are among the hungriest for innovation to keep up with changing technologies and lightning-fast changes in consumer habits.
Those changes are reflected immediately in the appetite that leaders and professionals in the field have for creditable, useful, accurate and timely media.
In September, Beacon International Group, Ltd. acquired Asia Insurance Review (AIR) and
Middle East Insurance Review (MEIR), aligning these respected and trusted titles with Commercial Risk (UK and EU), Insurance Advocate (New York-founded in 1889), Workers Comp Central (US) and the award-winning US leader, Business Insurance.
The Beacon insurance group is among the strongest in the field, as our slogan, ‘The Eyes Have It’, expresses, with more than 1m visits per month to our websites and hundreds of thousands of subscribers. Beacon is a private company formed to consolidate insurance and financial services media and resources into a new working formula to provide the highest level of carefully edited, wisely and reliably curated, intelligence to its subscribers. Beacon media concentrates on insurance, but also includes television programming and other general interest media.
Adding AIR and MEIR to our portfolio was logical and natural for us. They possess such an excellent pedigree that adding them to the family was ideal, especially given the accomplishments of Sivam Subramaniam and Sheela Suppiah, our executive leaders, and their remarkably talented and dedicated staff members. The principal asset of these media is the acumen, the applied intelligence of these professionals in the service of the industry’s best practices and growth. Please keep our communications on your desks and on your screens and, by all means, bold face our events onto your calendars.
For us, AIR and MEIR present an opportunity coupled with a great responsibility, one that we welcome as devotees of the insuring businesses’ success.
Looking forward to visiting with our many friends and leaders in the lands we serve –
when we are once again able to travel freely – may I extend to all.
Kind wishes for your continued success and well-being.
