The Insurance Institute of Egypt (IIE), in coordination with UK-based Unicorn Simulations, and under the sponsorship of Delta Insurance Company (Egypt) and Bavarian Insurance Brokerage, held a workshop for industry professionals in the Arab region called ‘Strategic business planning simulation workshop for running a profitable insurance operation’.

The workshop, accredited by the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), aimed to support and develop the participants’ skills required in running a profitable insurance operation in a competitive environment. It covered a number of topics, including insurance market analysis, strategy development, preparation of business plan, implementation of business strategy for a period of 1-3 years, feedback and review, business planning and decision making for a period of 4-6 years, analysis of results and final presentation.

This workshop was part of a series of workshops on various insurance and reinsurance topics implemented by IIE in addition to its training plan, which includes over 50 training programmes for 2019/2020 launched in mid-2019 for staff working in the Arab insurance market and other bodies related to the insurance sector.

The workshop was led by IIE CEO Mohamed El Dishish and an accredited trainer and insurance expert from Unicorn Simulations, which is accredited by the CII.

“It is part of our strategy to promote the institute to be the training hub for the whole region by bringing the latest technology applied in insurance and reinsurance from the accredited institutions (CII). On behalf of the IIE, I would like to thank Unicorn Simulations and their certified tutor Amel Amara and our sponsors Delta Insurance Company (Egypt) and Bavarian Insurance Brokerage for their support and contributions to make the event successful,” said Mr El Dishish.
