Source: Middle East Insurance Review | May 2019

A study by the Algerian Union of Insurance and Reinsurance Companies (UAR) has shown that 60% of the total compensation paid by insurers due to road accidents involved owners of new vehicles that are aged up to five years old.

“The total value of the compensation of these vehicles exceed DZD90bn ($753.5m),” said Mr Hassen Khelifati, UAR vice president.

The findings also showed that the price of such vehicles is less than DZD3m each. M
