MAPFRE ASISTENCIA signs $1m extended warranty & roadside assistance deal with Doha Insurance

MAPFRE ASISTENCIA Middle East (MAPFRE) has partnered Doha Insurance Group (DIG) to provide extended warranty and roadside assistance for Mercedes and Mitsubishi vehicles in Qatar.
For many months, MAPFRE, with the support of its local and global underwriting team, has been working hard to secure this large account. DIG is a leading insurer in Qatar.
The two companies met last month to finalise and execute the agreement. MAPFRE’s head of sales Stuart Catt said, “This was very much a team effort and would not have been possible without the ongoing support of my underwriting friends in Jordan and Madrid. We have already seen excellent results from this new account, and we look forward to a long and profitable relationship with DIG.”
With this and other new accounts recently signed in Qatar, the revenue from this market is expected to grow exponentially in 2019.
MAPFRE’s commercial & marketing director Moez Bergaoui said, “This is a great win for MAPFRE ASISTENCIA Middle East. We are well respected in Qatar, and I believe the recent new signings will further cement our footprint as a leading reinsurer/service provider in the market.”
The team enjoyed a great day in Qatar for the signing and will be returning soon to discuss the early results and the future strategy of the two companies. This partnership is fundamental to the planned growth for MAPFRE ASISTENCIA in Qatar in 2019 and beyond.”
