The African Insurance Organisation (AIO) has announced the election of Mr Yared Mola as president. He is also presently CEO of Nyala Insurance and president of the Association of Ethiopian Insurers.
In his new role, he will increase insurance penetration and inclusion, especially among underserved and vulnerable communities through innovation, education and collaboration. He will also enhance regulatory convergence and professionalism by promoting effective governance, standardised regulatory frameworks and strengthening institutional capacity across African nations and promoting innovation and digital transformation to improve efficiency, scalability and relevance in a rapidly evolving global insurance landscape.
Mr Mola has over 30 years of experience. He previously served as AIO’s vice president, and takes over from outgoing president Ms Patty Karuaihe-Martin.
