Qatar: Central bank introduces licence for digital insurance comparison services

The Qatar Central Bank (QCB) has called on companies that are willing to work in providing digital insurance comparison services to apply for the required license from the bank.

QCB said that the move was in line with financial-sector and fintech strategies stemming from the regulator’s commitment to regularising and upgrading the financial sector in Qatar, reported Qatar News Agency quoting a statement issued by the central bank.

This licence is part of QCB’s initiative to regulate such digital comparison platforms to create a more transparent system for insurance providers.
