Source: Middle East Insurance Review | Jun 2023

Men constitute 79.5% of drivers who are at fault in traffic accidents in Bahrain, while women account for 20.5%, according to statistics from the General Traffic Department.

Bahraini male drivers rank first for causing accidents with a percentage of 44.8%, followed by foreign men (34.7%), Bahraini females (16.2%), and finally foreign females (4.3%) according to Al Watan News citing the data.

The main causes of accidents for male drivers are not leaving a sufficient distance while walking behind another vehicle, dashing past red lights and colliding with pedestrians due to careless driving, which is increasing because of the use of mobile ‘phones. M
