The General Arab Insurance Federation (GAIF) has announced plans to establish an association of Arab actuaries, in line with the objectives of the federation to be supportive of the development and integration of the Arab insurance industry.
In a statement, GAIF said that actuaries play a pivotal role in analysing the risks facing the industry and insurance companies.
GAIF secretary general Chakib Abouzaid said that with the increase in the frequency and intensity of emerging risks such as epidemics, natural and cyber disasters and the need to find insurance solutions for retirement and comprehensive health funding, the need for actuaries, industry studies and risk modelling, has grown.
The federation has invited several insurance specialists to provide a comprehensive view on the sidelines of the founding meeting on how risks affect current and future conditions. M
