Source: Middle East Insurance Review | Mar 2017

The Mediterranean and Gulf Insurance and Reinsurance Company - MEDGULF UAE, has secured approvals from the Health Authority-Abu Dhabi (HAAD) to expand its services to the capital emirate.

The company had already obtained a licence from Dubai Health Authority (DHA) last year.

With the acquisition of the HAAD licence and the Federal Insurance Authority’s licence, MEDGULF UAE is now able to provide insurance solutions for companies in both Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

Mr Shadi Al Mahameed, MEDGULF UAE’s General Manager, said: “The approval is the first step to extending our services to the emirate, offering competitive, high-quality schemes and creating positive relationships with all parties involved in the insurance process.

“As per recent industry reports, the future of the insurance sector in the UAE will witness a substantial leap driven by population expansion and rising wealth. MEDGULF is primed to support the developments of the health sector in the region.”

MEDGULF is a leading regional insurance group providing the retail and corporate markets with comprehensive insurance coverage for the past 30 years, through its operations in Lebanon, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Qatar, Turkey, Egypt, the UK, most recently the UAE and soon the Democratic Republic of Congo.

MEDGULF UAE started business last October as a medical insurance player and aims to be an all-line insurer within the next three years.
