Credit risk rises for Arab exports to Asia

Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore look to be caught up in an economic typhoon, with growth hindered by depressed external demand – especially from China – and tighter financial conditions. With nearly half of exports from Saudi Arabia headed to Asia, the heightened risk of insolvencies among the three Asian Tigers alters the counterparty risk significantly for Arab exporters.
