2006
September • MEIR Incorporating Global Takaful is launched
July • MEIR debuts eWeekly Middle East, delivering the latest news online to insurance professionals on a weekly basis
2007
March • MEIR publishes 1st World Islamic Insurance Directory in partnership with Takaful Re, containing the corporate information of Islamic insurance companies globally
June • MEIR publishes 1st MENA Insurance Directory in partnership with Arig, a comprehensive guide to players in the regional insurance market
June • MEIR holds 1st MENA Insurance CEO Summit in Amman, under the theme of “Delivering on the Promise of Growth & Profitability in the Middle East”
December • MEIR holds 1st Middle East Healthcare Insurance Conference in Dubai, under the theme of “Insuring the Changing Healthcare Needs of the Market”
2008
June • 2nd MENA Insurance CEO Summit is held in Dubai with the theme of “Managing Expectations and Nourishing Aspirations (MENA)”
2009
January • MEIR goes digital with the launch of its eMagazine
April • 3rd MENA CEO Insurance Summit is held in Tunis, with the theme of “Managing Challenges of Insurance in North Africa at the Crossroads of the Middle East Boom”
2010
October • MEIR launches the first-ever MENA Insurance CEO Club (MICC), a by-invitation-only Club which has the vision to become the mouthpiece of and think tank for the MENA insurance industry
2012
November • MEIR holds 1st MENA Rendezvous in Dubai, with the theme of “Meeting the Different Reinsurance Needs of MENA Markets”
2013
October • 2nd MENA Rendezvous is held in Dubai, with the theme of “Creating a New Era for Reinsurance in MENA”
2014
January • MEIR teams up with the MICC to launch MEIR e-daily, delivering the latest news online to insurance professionals from Sunday to Thursday
November • MEIR launches 1st Middle East Insurance Industry Awards (MIIA) in conjunction with the 3rd MENA Rendezvous, with the theme of “Reinsurance as Strategic Risk Management for Underwriting Profitability”. It is supported by the DIFC, Emirates Insurance Association and the International Insurance Society
2015
November • 2nd MIIA is held in conjunction with the 1st Dubai Rendezvous, supported by the DIFC
December • MEIR becomes the most-visited English-language insurance website across MENA (Google Analytics, 2015)
2016
January • MEIR gets a fresh look for better readability, and featuring a new quarterly risk management segment
13-14 April 2016 • MEIR to hold 10th Anniversary Summit in Dubai, with the theme of “Underwriting for Profit: Myth or Reality in Today’s World”
3-4 October 2016 • MEIR to hold 10th Middle East Healthcare Insurance Conference, with the theme of “Insuring the Changing Healthcare Needs of the Market”
