A study by the World Bank on car insurance in Tunisia has recommended the establishment of a database that will facilitate the application of a reward system to develop the sector.
The study, whose recommendations were presented in September in Tunis to government officials and experts, also called for the implementation of agreements signed between insurance companies to speed up the pace of compensation, reported Tunis Afrique Presse, citing a Finance Ministry press release.
The study also recommends compulsory insurance for motorcycles, in addition to setting up a registration system for these vehicles so that these can be insured on a technical basis.
Secretary of State for Finance Boutheina Ben Yaghlane said the study could constitute the core of reforms for the insurance sector, the statement added.
