UAE:Syndicates urged to note DIFC Court's reaffirmation of expansive approach to jurisdiction

In a decision that will be of particular interest for insurers and lenders entering into syndicated agreements, the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) Court of First Instance recently found that it had jurisdiction to hear a claim brought by four reinsurers (the Claimants) for a declaration of non-liability, despite the fact that none of the parties to the claim were DIFC entities.
