While 54.7% of the 20m residences throughout Turkey have compulsory earthquake insurance policies issued by the Turkish Catastrophe Insurance Pool (TCIP), the coverage rate is 49% on average in the 10 provinces at the epicentre of the devastating 6 February earthquakes.
