The delegate fee structure for 18th SIRC 2022 will be largely unchanged from the last in-person event in 2019, according to the Singapore Reinsurers’ Association.

The Singapore Reinsurers’ Association (SRA) has announced that the fee structure for the upcoming 18th Singapore International Reinsurance Conference (SIRC) will be maintained at roughly the same levels as in 2019 when the last in-person event attracted over 1,100 registered delegates and close to 1,900 meeting visitors.

The regular full delegate pass will be priced at S$1,480 ($1,075) – the same level since the 12th SIRC in 2013.  However, as the upcoming 18th SIRC will be organised as a hybrid event, the full delegate pass will also allow passholders to access the 18th SIRC virtual platform, which will contain selected conference sessions on-demand as well as the extensive selection of multimedia content uploaded onto SIRC partners’ virtual booths.

Early bird discount
During the early registration period from 20 June until 31 August, registrants can enjoy S$300 savings at the early registration fee of S$1,180.

Delegates who are unable to attend the in-person SIRC can register instead for a virtual delegate pass at S$180, which will enable them to access the virtual platform to view selected conference sessions live or on-demand, as well as access all the multimedia content on SIRC partners’ virtual booths.

As at previous SIRCs, the partnership and meeting facilities packages will come bundled with a number of complimentary full (in-person plus virtual) as well as virtual delegate passes for their company representatives.

Over and above their complimentary bundle, they can also register additional representatives at the special discounted fee of S$280 for full delegate passes and S$100 for virtual delegate passes. At the previous two in-person SIRC in 2018 and 2019, the additional delegate passes were priced at S$500. However, unlike the previous two in-person events, all in-person attendees to the 18th SIRC will be required to register, whether for a full or virtual delegate pass.

Commenting on this change in policy, SRA executive committee chair Marc Haushofer said, “For an event of the scale of our recent SIRCs, it is imperative that all the necessary security safeguards and health and safety protocols are put in place to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all our attendees. Such measures do come at a cost.”

He said, “After our experience of organising the last two virtual SIRCs, we have learnt first-hand that there will be additional manpower and multimedia communications costs involved in producing and live-streaming high-quality content that both our full and virtual delegates can access anytime, anywhere. Virtual events are, unfortunately, not as low-cost as some of our practitioners may think.”

Asia Insurance Review (AIR) will be the official media partner of the SIRC for 2022 – with regular updates on the progress of the work of the SIRC executive committee featuring in AIR’s various media.

As in previous years, the Asia Insurance Industry Awards 2022 gala dinner is scheduled to be held in Marina Bay Sands on the evening of 31 October to coincide with the start of the SIRC.
The 18th SIRC will be held from 31 October to 3 November 2022 with the theme: ‘Re-Connecting … Re-shaping the Future!’.

Registrations for this year’s SIRC start on 20 June. Details of the partnership and meeting facilities packages are being finalised.
