Transformation, but! delves into transformation projects and their pitfalls
Targeted at project managers and top management at large corporations, Transformation, but! addresses the challenges and issues of transformation projects. Written by Innovestor managing director Firas Khabour, formerly from MedNet, the book is presented as a light read with comics accompanying each section, delivering complex insights through simple, digestible narratives.

Mr Khabour, with his long career in the insurance industry and experience in transformation projects, has in this book highlighted 12 challenges and issues that are usually undetected during the life course of a project – resulting in the halt of the entire project or the lack of tangible benefits and impact. Those challenges usually occur at the edges of strategic projects where the corporate’s structure and dynamics are in direct touch with the project’s structure and dynamics. The book is designed to serve as a common communication ground between the two.

Transformation hype allows investments to flow into envisioning the future of the business with less resistance from top management, and motivates top management to push their organisations to transform with substantial budgets to back them up, said Mr Khabour.

Newcomers to transformation projects and project management will find this book a useful guide.

Egypt: AXA Life launches cancer protection plan
AXA Life Insurance Egypt has launched its new protection plan ‘Cancer Protect’, dedicated to protecting financial lifestyle in case of diagnosis with cancer. This new, pioneering plan is part of AXA’s goal of becoming a one-stop-shop for all of its clients’ protection needs in Egypt in 2021 and is designed to provide financial backing and help maintain the lifestyle cancer patients and their families are accustomed to.

The new plan, which will cover ages 21 to 50, with a 15-year policy term and a fixed premium, will provide substantial payouts for early stage cancer patients and full payment for more advanced stages of the disease. The plan will also allow customers to benefit from a second medical opinion service for diagnosis and treatment from top specialists abroad, ensuring that patients have access to the best medical opinions, advice, and treatment available. This service will be available to policyholders twice a year throughout the policy duration.

The insurer said the product has been developed with customer convenience and accessibility in mind, which is why no prior medical exam will be necessary, with customers only required to complete a simple questionnaire.

“We understand how fundamental it is for our customers to know that they will be able to take care of their families, no matter what challenges life may bring their way. For us, this understanding goes beyond the traditional insurance concept of medical claim bill pay-outs, which is important of course, but it is not the only consideration. With the many emotional burdens that a diagnosis of cancer carries, Cancer Protect from AXA will help provide relief by being a financial partner who will help them maintain the quality of life their loved ones are accustomed to,” said AXA Life Insurance Egypt managing director Ayman Kandeel. M
