Theme: “The art of dissent – reinsurance reality check”
2-5 November, Singapore
The Singapore International Reinsurance Conference was launched in 1991 to provide insurance professionals a forum to meet and discuss issues of the day, while taking stock of developments in the reinsurance market; and starting preparations for the following year’s treaty renewals.

Over the years, the SIRC has gained a strong reputation and loyal following, with reinsurers, insurers and reinsurance brokers from all over the world attending and conducting bilateral discussions alongside the main conference, which has attracted close to 1,000 registered delegates since 2017 when the conference was organised annually.

33rd GAIF General Conference rescheduled to 2021

The General Arab Insurance Federation (GAIF) has announced that its board of directors has resolved to postpone the 33rd General Conference, which had been scheduled to be held in Oran, Algeria, from 11-14 October 2020, to 2021.

In a statement, GAIF said the decision is due to the current circumstances arising from the COVID-19 pandemic, the need to follow safety measures, travel constraints, difficulty in organising large events, and the wish to ensure the success of the conference.

GAIF said, “We would like to thank all insurers who have expressed interest in the conference; we assure them that the success of the conference is an important objective of the GAIF board and general secretariat.”

A new date will be set for the 33rd GAIF General Conference in 2021, after agreement between the GAIF board and the conference high committee.

The GAIF General Conference is usually held every two years with the participation of more than 1,500 attendees from all over of the world.
