Australia:Businesses lost A$3.8 million to scams in 2016

Nearly 6,000 Australian businesses reported being targeted by scams in 2016, with nearly A$3.8 million (US$2.85 mln) losses arising, an increase of almost 31% y-o-y. Of this sum, over $2 million was reported lost by SMEs. The average loss was $10,000.
