AXIS Capital Holdings Limited announced on 14 February that Mr John "Jay" Nichols resigned as Chief Executive Officer of AXIS Re. Mr Jan Ekberg, currently President and Chief Underwriting Officer of AXIS Re Europe, will succeed him as Interim CEO, reporting directly to AXIS Capital President and Chief Executive Officer Albert Benchimol. Mr Nichols has agreed to remain with the Company in a transitional role until 31 March.
