UAE: AIG expands services from the DIFC

Source: Middle East Insurance Review | Mar 2019

AIG MEA, a wholly owned subsidiary of AIG, is now providing insurance and reinsurance solutions from its office in the DIFC.

The move enables AIG MEA to offer solutions to a broader number of geographies in the Middle East and Africa.

AIG said it continues to lead the regional insurance industry through innovation and its commitment to supporting its business partners across the region.

“We are proud to enhance AIG’s contribution to the development of the DIFC and regional insurance market by servicing clients from AIG MEA Limited office. This decision helps us meet significant demand from a number of partners who have asked for reinsurance solutions to be provided out of DIFC as well as capitalise on the projected future growth of the insurance markets across our target markets,” said Mr Steven Barnett, Chairman of AIG MEA.

AIG’s onshore operations, American Home Assurance Company, will continue to focus on servicing clients and partners with onshore risks across the commercial and personal insurance segments. M
