Takaful Oman to have its first automated insurance machine

Source: Middle East Insurance Review | May 2017

Takaful Oman, the Sultanate’s pioneering takaful company, will soon introduce Automated Insurance Machines (AIMs) in various malls and other popular locations across the country.

The initiative removes paperwork and makes it easy for everyone to get instant access to travel and motor takaful as and when they need it. It also helps customers who want to apply or renew their takaful cover by using the nearest AIM, reported Times of Oman.

The AIMs will accept credit cards from all major banks and carry a user-friendly Arabic and English interface.

Commenting on the initiative, Ms Sayyida Rawan Ahmed Al Said, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of Takaful Oman, said: “Our innovations, be it the AIMs or the previously introduced mobile app, are a reflection of our efforts to be transparent and accessible to the customer at all times. These innovations are sure to make Shariah-compliant Islamic financial services like takaful more accessible to the ordinary people and will play a significant role in increasing the overall takaful cover in the Sultanate.”

Mr O G Ravishankar, General Manager of Takaful Oman, said: “Our decision to be the first to introduce AIMs is a reflection of our capabilities and efforts to be a future-ready, Shariah-compliant takaful provider.” M
