Doha Insurance Company has been renamed as Doha Insurance Group following the amendment of the company’s Articles of Association after getting approval from the extraordinary general assembly meeting held in early April.
Going forward, the Group aims to implement a novel approach towards enhancing the organisational structure, said the company in a statement.
In order to keep pace with the strategy of expansion at both local and regional level, the emphasis would revolve around creating new positions filled by qualified new cadres and relying on highly qualified and experienced industry professionals. This would not only ensure the efficiency of performance and the accuracy of control remained intact, but also allow the company’s management to improve the training of the existing employees, increase their performance level, and ultimately considerably develop and strengthen their skill set.
In line with the new Group strategy, the Board of Directors has already introduced new appointments.
Mr Abdulla Sultan has been appointed Chief Operating Officer of the Doha Insurance Group. His leadership role spans across a multitude of responsibilities within the company, including supporting business operations, determining strategy implementation, management of the business developments, overseeing the core underwriting process, risk management and marketing. He has also been appointed as a member of the Board of Directors of the Group’s subsidiaries.
In addition, Mr Ghaith Jardaneh recently assumed the post of CFO for the Group, responsible for the financial operations of the Group, including financial reporting, financial controls and financial planning. He will also assist the investment department to develop the group’s investment policy and manage the group’s investment assets. M
