XL Catlin names Head of M&A, Insurance, EMEA 
XL Catlin’s insurance operations have appointed Mr Simon Price to the position of Head of Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A), Insurance, EMEA. 
 
   Based in London, he has 17 years of transactional experience and will be responsible for all of XL Catlin’s EMEA business, including all international business placed through the London market.
 
   Mr Price joined XL Catlin from Marsh’s Private Equity and M&A practice. Most recently, he led Marsh’s UK transaction risk team in London and was business development leader and legal advisor to their wider EMEA team. 
 
   Prior to his appoinment, Mr Price spent 10 years in private legal practice in London, working at city law firms Macfarlanes and Davies Arnold Cooper. He remains a qualified English solicitor.

Now Health International promotes from within to drive growth in Middle East and Africa
Now Health International Group, a leading international private medical insurance (IPMI) provider, has promoted Ms Sonja de Pattenden as General Manager for its Middle East and Africa (MEA) operations to further drive growth in the region. The appointment took effect from 1 January 2018.
 
   Ms de Pattenden was previously Business Development Director (MEA) for the business and has been promoted to the new role following more than six years of service with the company. She will continue to be based in the company’s Dubai office. 
 
   In her new role, Ms de Pattenden will focus on developing a strategic business plan to ensure sustained, profitable growth within the MEA region. She will also continue to maintain oversight of the region’s sales function. 
 
   This internal promotion follows a number of recent changes to the Now Health International business structure, including the merger of the company’s Asia Pacific and MEA regions into the larger “AMEA” region in May 2017. Ms de Pattenden’s appointment also reflects a wider move towards a regional operating model in response to the growing geographical reach of the Group.

Chubb appoints Senior Vice President, A&H UK&I
Chubb has appointed Mr Andrew Nisbet as Senior Vice President, Accident & Health (A&H) UK&I, effective 15 January 2018. 
 
   In his new role, Mr Nisbet will have overall responsibility for A&H in the UK and Ireland and also for growing the business in Eurasia and Africa. 
 
   He will report to Mr David Robinson, Executive Vice President, European Group & President, UK & Ireland, Mr Giles Ward, Regional President, Eurasia & Africa, and Mr John Thompson, Division President A&H for Chubb Overseas General.  
 
   Mr Nisbet was previously Regional Vice President, Accident & Health for Chubb Far East. He joined Chubb in 2006 and his past roles include Head of A&H, Australia & New Zealand which he held until 2015.

AGCS appoints Regional Unit London (RUL) Head of Claims
Allianz Group’s specialist corporate insurer Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty SE (AGCS) has appointed Mr Lars Vissing as Regional Unit London (RUL) Head of Claims, starting in February 2018. 
 
   Based in London and Copenhagen, Mr Vissing will lead AGCS’ claims team in the UK, Ireland, Dubai, Russia, the Nordic Region, Australia and New Zealand. Previously Head of Claims for the AGCS Nordic region, he will continue to be directly responsible for the area. He succeeded Mr Martin Henson who retires after nearly 20 years with Allianz. 
 
   Mr Vissing has been with AGCS since 2008, joining as Head of Claims for the Nordic region. He brings extensive experience gained from managing high value and complex claims as well as implementing successful claims strategies across all four Nordic countries.

Malaysia: Hong Leong MSIG Takaful welcomes new CEO
Hong Leong MSIG Takaful (HLMT) appointed Mr Mohd Asri Omar as its new CEO, effective 2 January 2018. 
In his new role, he will be responsible to drive and execute transformation strategies to achieve profitable growth, accelerate returns of shareholders and ensure HLMT’s operational effectiveness. 
 
   Mr Mohd Asri has 20 over years of experience in key areas of the Islamic insurance segment, including business strategy and development, operations, legal, Shariah, operations, risk management and compliance.
 
   Before his appointment at HLMT, he was the Head of Governance and Strategy of AIA Public Takaful Bhd (APTB), responsible for the company’s business strategy, operations, project and information management, legal, Shariah and secretarial functions.
 
   Prior to this, Mr Mohd Asri was the Head of Legal, Shariah and Compliance at ING Public Takaful Ehsan Berhad (formerly known as APTB prior to the acquisition by AIA), where he ensured the smooth operation of the takaful business in alignment with local regulatory and ING Group requirements. He was involved in the business integration of AIA and ING’s takaful entities following the acquisition by AIA in 2012.

UAE: New head to lead Oman Insurance Company’s Commercial Lines division 
Oman Insurance Company (OIC) has appointed Mr Christopher Wildee as Head of its Commercial Lines division as well as Head of Energy, effective 3 January 2018. 
 
   Mr Wildee, formerly the International Head of Marine and Upstream Energy at Aspen Insurance Group based in the UK, brings to his new role a wealth of experience and expertise to drive forward OIC’s business ambitions. 
 
   A veteran of Marine, Engineering and Energy insurance lines of business, he has held several senior leadership roles across global markets throughout his career.
